Bug List
1. Missing class because of my alarm not going off in the morning.
Why: My phone is set to silent mode on accident.
2. Someone cuts me off in traffic, only to get stuck at a red light ahead.
Why: The driver is frantically trying to get somewhere on time and is just as frustrated as you.
3. My coworker making mistakes at work, which slows down production.
Why: They could be having a rough day and are not focused on the job at hand.
4. Having to wait in traffic for 30 minutes to travel a couple miles down the road to campus.
Why: There are a lot of students going to class at the same time, along with people trying to get to work on time.
5. My boss giving me advice on efficiency, while he chats away on the phone during work hours.
Why: He is in charge of the company and is constantly busy so he is probably on an important call.
6. Having to wait for a package for more than a couple of days.
Why: I am used to using free and quick Amazon Prime. Not every company can afford to have free two-day shipping.
7. Having to wait an extra day to get paid.
Why: Some banks take longer to process funds and direct them to your account.
8. The cost of my utilities keeps rising.
Why: GRU has some of the highest usage rates in the state because of the city needing funds due to half of the property in Gainesville paying no property tax.
9. My rent increasing with no improvement to my apartment or amenities.
Why: My apartment is near Butler Plaza, an up and coming area in Gainesville. Apartments in the area are becoming more expensive by being close to a nice area.
10. Having to wait on a bus for more than 20 minutes to get to the UF park and ride lot.
Why: UF has a large number of students that require bus transportation. During rush hour the buses are full and busy.
11. My GPS not knowing which direction I'm facing and it has to recalculate.
Why: The satellite knows your direction by which way you are moving, making it difficult to know your direction while you are at a standstill.
12. My A/C taking a long time to maintain the temperature in my apartment.
Why: The unit is old and is inefficient. There could also be cracks in the structure, letting in air from outside.
13. College students getting a puppy, only to give it away a couple of months later.
Why: Students get lonely and want a puppy, but don't realize how big of a commitment it is to raise one.
14. Having to repeat my order several times to a cashier at The Standard Chick-fil-a.
Why: The cashier could be new to the position and is nervous, or they could be busy and distracted.
15. Maintenance crew entering my apartment when I'm not home without notifying me.
Why: Management forgets to send you a notification or there is miscommunication between management and maintenance.
16. My car having trouble starting on a cold morning.
Why: Cold batteries don't produce as much power as warm batteries.
17. Being required to attend work meetings that don't concern you at all.
Why: Management wants everyone to be on the same page, regardless of your position.
18. Having my roommate leave empty boxes of food in the pantry.
Why: My roommate is lazy and has built a habit of having others clean after him.
19. Watching a person sweat a lot on a machine and not wipe the machine down when they are done.
Why: The person is in a time crunch and feels others can wipe it down before they use it.
20. Having a friend say they will pay me back later and then doesn't.
Why: The person forgot, or they don't have the money and hope you forget about it.
Reflection: I found it easy to come with the first 10 bugs, but after that, I found it hard to think about things that bug me because I'm the type to forget about annoying things and move on. Once I got into the habit of identifying bugs and thinking about why they happen, the assignment became easier.
